AFFIDAVIT OF RAYMOND MADDEN, JR. - #11

Raymond Madden, Jr. being duly sworn does depose and say that;

1. I am a Special Agent of the FBI assigned to the Raleigh Resident Agency of the FBI, and on June 11, 1984, Addie Willis Johnstone, 210 Hickory Street, Cary, North Carolina, telephone number 467-1101, was telephonically contacted and advised of the identity of the interviewing agent and an attempt was made to schedule an appointment with Johnstone regarding an affidavit she filed with Private Investigator Raymond Shedlick concerning the MacDonald case. She advised as follows:

2. She did not desire to be interviewed by the FBI regarding this matter and had filed an affidavit with Private Investigator Raymond Shedlick and stated this affidavit is accurate and truthful to the best of her knowledge. She stated that in her opinion there was not sufficient evidence against Dr. MacDonald to convict him and she is looking forward to testifying in Dr. MacDonald's behalf. She has been interested in the MacDonald case for sometime and believes Dr. MacDonald, "got a raw deal."

3. She noted that when the Grand Jury was convening in Raleigh, North Carolina, she telephonically contacted the Foreman of the Grand Jury, name unrecalled, and advised the foreman that she possessed information relative to the Mac Donald case. According to Johnstone, the foreman directed her to one of MacDonald's attorneys, Wade Smith, in Raleigh, North Carolina. She attempted to telephonically contact Smith who was unavailable; however, she provided the information in her possession to a female member in the firm who was assisting in the investigation. According to Johnstone, the female assistant did not think her information was worthwhile and she was not contacted and interviewed by Attorney Wade Smith.

4. She reiterated she did not desire to be interviewed by the FBI and stated if necessary, she would tell her story in court.
